     The division function as a "One Stop" for complete business information for first time entrepreneurs, companies considering relocating to Paterson and expanding businesses. Services include information and required permits and licenses and providing referrals to technical assistance and financing resources. We cut through red tape.

     Loan packaging is a major activity of the division providing creative financing with Federal, State and private funds for low interest, long term loans to businesses.

     With the help of local Realtors, the division provides reports of available industrial and commercial properties. This material is updated monthly and is sent with other pertinent data to business inquiring about relocating to Paterson.

     A division specialist is on hand to address the problems and concerns of existing businesses and to ensure that their needs are being met. This provides a close working relationship between the public and private sectors of the city.

     Paterson, which was designated an Urban Enterprise Zone, has an area which encompasses 30% of the land mass of the city. A qualified business is entitled to many tax incentives. Contact the UEZ coordinator for an application and to verify you are located within the zone.

     This division conducts seminars throughout the year to educate the business community on the various programs available. It also channels referrals to other agencies which provide business counseling, seminars and conferences at the little or no costs.
